After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class, Laura Stone attended Morehead State University to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in art and elementary education. Later, she earned a Master of Arts in art education through the University of Cincinnati. She is trained in the media of photography, digital design, drawing, painting, bronze foundry, glass blowing, fiber art, and intaglio printing.


Currently, Laura resides in the picturesque Ohio River Valley of Northeastern Kentucky. She is employed by the Lewis County School district to teach visual arts. For the last decade, Laura has worked on a variety of commissioned art projects including wedding photography, logo and buisness card design, and webpage creation.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and has visit many places throughout the world, including China, Japan, Mexico, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Kiribati, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Italy, Israel, Turkey, and Egypt. These travels have had a profound impact on her art, teaching, and writing. In 2007, she published a travel memoir about her experiences in Beijing. Laura says she finds, ". . . the customs, traditions, and lifestyles of other cultures to be fascinating."
